Who manufactures CHI Energy Bites and where are they made?
CHIef Energy Officer, Chef and Founder Lisa Dorfman mixes, hand rolls, labels and packages every ready to eat snack in Miami, Florida.
What are the quick power snack ingredients?
While the varieties differ in nutrient composition and flavors, the foundation ingredients in these vegan snack gluten free energy bites are animal free, nearly 100% organic GMO free, allergen free (although prepared in a kitchen which manufacturers meal placement food delivery and other items which do contain allergens), and locally sourced, when possible. The plant-based protein is a blend of pea, pumpkin and chia. Other ingredients include organic brown rice, allulose (a natural sugar alternative), organic fruit concentrates, Florida sourced sea salt, organic vanilla, organic cacao powder and nips, locally sourced spice blends, and locally sourced dehydrated broccoli sprout powder. What are the CHI Energy Bite options?
There are four varieties of healthy energy snacks: Empower-Strength Formula Power Snack for strong gym or HIIT workouts or start to a workday; Sustain-Endurance Formula for aerobic exercise like jogging, cycling, hiking, walking — any activity that lasts more than 60 minutes; Replenish-Recovery Formula for healthy recovery snacks for athletes or after a hard day at work and Nourish-Nutrient Boost for a low calorie high protein energy bite, the best low calorie snacks with good nutrition.
Are these low-calorie high protein energy bites caffeinated?
Only two of the of the four pre workout snack on the go and post workout snacks are caffeinated and labeled caffeinated: Empower Rich Chocolate Brownie and Replenish Café Con Lychee, great for an afternoon pick me up. Custom Bites can also be prepared with all-natural coffee concentrate by request. The amount is very low since each Bite is less than 1 gram concentrate in each Bite.
Are the Bites certified organic?
While the bites are not certified organic, 90% to nearly 100% of the ingredients are non-GMO and organic. The company hopes to expand and grow to include certification on each of its labels for organic, gluten free and Kosher in the future.
How were the Nutrition Facts Panels created?
The information on the Nutrient Facts Panels were derived from a dietary analysis program called ESHA Genesis. The recipe ingredients are entered and based on the recipe and portions the program calculates the label values. According to ESHA “The software program creates government-compliant Nutrition Facts panels, virtually formulate foods, analyzes the nutritional content of the recipes, and adjusts ingredients.”
This is especially important for our small start-up company as it saves us and therefore you money and cost for high quality, high protein vegan snacks to buy; it also helps with developing and testing nutrient blends, new flavors or custom Bites.
